It tells the story of Laura Whitehorn, an out lesbian jewish political prisoner incarcerated for 14 years in the Federal Correctional Institute at Dublin, Ca., 5 years of which she spent in so called prevention detention without trial. Whitehorn was convicted for the 1983 U.S. Capitol bombing and of »conspiring to influence, change and protest policies and practices of the United States government through violent and illegal means.« The film is a testimony to the history of radical left politics since the 1960ies in the U.S. and to the fact that there have been and still are political prisoners. It also confronts the viewer with what it means to follow one's convictions and what you might be willing to risk for it. Whether you agree with Whitehorn's political believes or not, her integrity, clarity and intensity commands respect.

What did it mean some 30 years ago in the era of the 1960ies to be a woman filmmaker, to make women's films? Is filmmaking a dream career? What about success and failure: what price did these women have to pay for pursuing their pathes? Why are there so few women successful in the industry? What does success actually mean?
